There is incredible aliveness and energy waiting for you to be experienced.

This year, I started with a profound experience of doing a pilgrimage in India. We spent 2 weeks with an awakened teacher and visited multiple temples and places every day. These two weeks broke my mind open like nothing had ever done. So much of what I thought I knew I could bin, but also, I accessed a level of clarity and depth in my experience that I am still integrating. There is this deep peace underlying everything, the mind is what cloaks it.

The good news is that it is so close by and so simple, the teachings and practices I work with every day are such important tools for liberation, but I was just missing a few pieces of the puzzle. It’s really in the simplest of things, and also in radical honesty and willingness to feel. Let’s start with something very easy you can do right now to instantly feel a shift. Take a moment to listen to the sound around you, deeply listen to the vibrations of sound, letting thoughts come and go, return to noticing the sounds again and again, and notice how that makes you feel…The challenge we all face is when the mind starts on a tangent and keeps us stuck until something happens that brings us back into the present moment – a loud noise, another thought, a notification on our phone. For a brief moment, we are present until the next thought comes in – on and on ALL DAY LONG. Can you relate? It feels like a madhouse at times, right?

The problem is not just the thoughts and the thinking, it´s how it´s obscuring reality and how we missing out on what is going on right in front of us. We can’t connect to the people we love, we can’t see the beauty of what is in front of our eyes.

Right now, I am sitting in a café to have some space to write this newsletter for you, and as I look up from my screen, I can profoundly enjoy how the sunlight is hitting the objects and creating a beautiful play of shadows and light. A very simple joy, but so deeply satisfying if we pause and take a moment to experience it.

There are people around me, mostly on their phones, but they are all seeking to do the same thing, finding relief from the mind, and the tension, seeking satisfaction in the instant gratification that our phones offer.

The thing is, they are missing out, missing out on the relief of tension they can feel by just sitting there, enjoying the trees around, the play of the sunlight, the sounds of the movements in the coffee shop, and even the sensation of the heated room they are sitting in.

It´s truly in those little moments we recharge, rest, regulate, and find joy. It´s so simple, but can you do it? Most people have no idea what I am talking about.

We are so burdened with stress, responsibilities, tasks, anxiety, expectations, fears, unresolved pains, and traumas, working so hard and trying the best we can to access love, safety, and belonging. But we are overwhelmed, we just can’t seem to find that place within ourselves we so desperately crave to access. The funny thing, or the sad thing, it´s right here, right now, If only we could drop the distractions for a moment and see it.

Maybe you’ve noticed this in yourself:• Your mind is constantly racing, making it hard to focus or unwind• You wake up already feeling anxious as if you’re behind before the day starts• You overreact to small things and feel emotionally drained afterward• Even when you want to be present, your body feels tense, restless, or on edge• You keep searching for peace, but it always feels just out of reach.

On the pilgrimage to India, I was reminded of how terribly stuck we can be when I heard some participants say they had never experienced anything beyond their thoughts. It struck me – how many of us are living on autopilot, lost in our to-do lists, past regrets, and future worries, completely missing the exquisite beauty of the present moment and the intense delight of resting in awareness.

Most people will live their whole lives like this. But if you’re reading this, you don’t have to be one of them. I get it. I used to be there too. My mind was a relentless machine, creating anxiety, depression, emotional eating, and exhaustion. I spent years chasing happiness, numbing stress, and trying to control everything – only to feel like I had to work so hard just to feel good for a brief moment. Mindfulness came to the rescue and little by little a space opened up inside of me that gave me moments and sometimes days of absolute and utter peace. Everything that seemed urgent, relevant, problematic, simply melted, I melted.

The issue is that we are chronically overstimulated, and living with a dysregulated nervous system. It doesn’t have to be this way. If you put in the work, you can dramatically shift your experience of reality. What would life feel like if your body and mind worked with you instead of against you? Would you finally feel at peace? More present? More alive? Most people don’t realize they have a choice. But you do.

All that energy you are now wasting on not feeling your feelings can be fuel for profound aliveness, clarity, and peace.

It’s really, deeply simple. Feel your feelings – fully and honestly. Face them head-on, every single one. Then pause… and return to the silence that permeates everything. If this speaks to you, let me know.
